Dr. Chen, a graduate of the University of Southern California, holds a Doctoral in Physical Therapy (DPT) which she obtained in 2003. She is recognized as the first Chinese individual to have received this degree from the prestigious university. Additionally, Dr. Chen has earned the Orthopaedic Specialist (OCS) certification.
Dr. Chen Yue has dedicated herself to advancing the exchange and dissemination of physical therapy and physical training between China and the United States. Since 2006, she has taken on the responsibility of overseeing the rehabilitation training program for the Training Bureau of the State Sports General Administration. This program has played a crucial role in establishing the first international internship program, providing education to rehabilitation experts at national and provincial training centers in China.
Dr. Chen Yue has contributed significantly to various high-profile sporting events. She served as a rehabilitation consultant for the Chinese delegation during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2012 London Olympics. In 2014, she provided her expertise as a rehabilitation consultant for the Chinese speed skating team at the Sochi Winter Olympics. Furthermore, Dr. Chen acted as the director of the Chinese team’s key athlete rehabilitation consultant team at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics. She also held the position of rehabilitation consultant for the Chinese Olympic Committee during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and is set to continue her role as a consultant for the upcoming Japan 2020 Olympics.
In addition to her extensive sports-related achievements, Dr. Chen Yue is a certified Maternal Health expert recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association. Since 2014, she has been dedicated to promoting the development of pelvic floor health and maternity rehabilitation in China. Through her work, she aims to bridge the gap between China and the United States, foster the growth of the physical therapy profession within China, and train elite professionals in the field.
Dr. Chen Yue’s expertise has also been recognized by the American Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physiotherapy (JOSPT). In 2012, she was authorized to host the Chinese translation and proofreading of the JOSPT Clinical Practice Guide. These guidelines have been published in the Chinese Journal of Sports Medicine and on the website www.jospt.org. Additionally, the 2019 guidelines will be published in the Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Furthermore, Dr. Chen serves as the international clinical coordinator for the University of Southern California’s international clinical residency and fellowship programs. She actively supports the international internship rehabilitation programs between USC and China.
