Susan, originally from San Jose, California, grew up in a supportive environment that fostered her passion for physical therapy. She pursued her higher education at California State University, Fresno, where she successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy.

Following her graduation, Susan embarked on a fulfilling career in various physical therapy settings, honing her skills and expertise. However, her journey took an unexpected turn when she discovered her profound interest in childbirth education. Susan decided to become a childbirth educator and began teaching informative and empowering childbirth classes at the hospital where her own children were born.

In 2004, Susan made a significant life change and relocated to Memphis, where she continues to contribute to the field of childbirth education. Demonstrating her commitment to professional development, she completed advanced training in 2017, becoming a qualified Evidence Based Birth(R) Instructor. This additional certification allows her to provide evidence-based information and support to expectant parents, empowering them to make informed decisions during their birthing experiences.

Recognizing the importance of breastfeeding support, Susan pursued further education in 2020 and obtained her CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) certification. This qualification equips her with the necessary knowledge and skills to offer evidence-based counseling on breastfeeding to families, ensuring they receive the guidance and support they need to navigate this crucial aspect of early parenthood.

Susan’s journey in supporting families during the birthing process also led her to become a DONA-certified doula. This role allowed her to provide invaluable emotional and physical support to expectant parents, further fueling her passion for maternal health and well-being. As a result, Susan developed a specific interest in pelvic physical therapy, focusing on providing comprehensive care to women during their childbearing years.

With her extensive experience, Susan is dedicated to empowering women throughout their unique journeys, advocating for evidence-based practices, and ensuring that families receive the support they need during the transformative time of childbirth.
