Shirlea completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Marymount University in 2011. Her area of expertise lies in treating individuals with neurodegenerative conditions, and she has been certified in LSVT BIG since 2012. Shirlea is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with physical therapy students from local universities and has been a certified clinical instructor (CI) since 2012. Additionally, she holds an active Direct Access certification.
Since 2011, Shirlea has been an active member of both the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Virginia Physical Therapy Association (VPTA). In 2014, she earned her Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) degree to enhance her ability to provide care for the aging population. Recently, she completed training in the Meeks Method for postural correction and has received extensive education in the treatment of vestibular and balance dysfunction. Currently, she is pursuing continuing education in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, further expanding her expertise.
