Shaunna Mayers, a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, grew up with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist. Her journey began at Andrews University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science in 2009. Shaunna’s passion for the field led her to pursue further education at Andrews University, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011.

Upon completing her studies, Shaunna developed a keen interest in addressing women’s health concerns, particularly focusing on pelvic floor therapy, chronic pain management, and breast cancer rehabilitation. She possesses a strong dedication to serving pregnancy and postpartum patients, as well as addressing issues such as urinary and fecal incontinence, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, dyspareunia, vaginismus, diastasis rectus abdominis, constipation, digestive issues, prolapse, and post-mastectomy breath health.

In order to provide the best possible care to her patients, Shaunna actively pursues advanced pelvic floor courses to enhance her knowledge and expertise. She has also obtained several additional certifications, including a Lymphedema Certification through Klose Training in 2014, a Manual Therapy Certification from the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) in 2016, and a certification as a Certified Manual Trigger Point Therapist for dry needling from MyoPain Seminars in 2017.

Shaunna’s passion for her profession extends beyond patient care. She thoroughly enjoys educating various audiences, including patients, women’s groups, moms’ groups, physical therapy students, and physical therapy assistant students. In recognition of her exemplary teaching skills, she was honored with the Clinical Educator Award from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016.

When Shaunna is not at work, she cherishes spending quality time with her family. She also finds joy in outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, boating, and engaging in home improvement projects.
