Their treatment methods encompass a range of modalities, including neuromuscular electrical stimulation, biofeedback, manual therapy techniques, and psychological and cognitive strategies, ensuring comprehensive care for their clients. Currently, they are working towards obtaining a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification from the Herman and Wallace Institute for Pelvic Rehabilitation.
With 17 years of experience, they are a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist. They obtained their Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2002 and a post-professional Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. They have worked in various settings, including inpatient neuro-rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, acute care, home health, and outpatient settings, catering to both adult and pediatric populations. Their commitment to continuous learning has led them to pursue additional education in manual pain-management strategies, such as myofascial release, and techniques that harness the brain-body connection, such as graded motor imagery and autogenic relaxation, ensuring they can provide the most effective approach for each individual.
For the past eight years, they have been employed at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. Recently, they have taken on the role of Team Coordinator at Sentara’s new outpatient therapy center on Daisy Reid Avenue. In their free time, they cherish moments with their family, including their three children. They also enjoy salsa dancing, reading, and practicing yoga.
