They have been a dedicated healthcare professional for over 18 years, always striving to serve their community. After spending 13 years practicing dental hygiene in Florida, they made the decision to further their education and pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of South Florida. Their belief in the power of physical therapy to educate others on pain reduction, increased functionality, and overall well-being led them to this career choice.
During their undergraduate studies for DPT at Florida State University, they also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. This additional knowledge has enabled them to connect with their patients and work team at Total Physical Therapy on a deeper level. Seeking a fresh start, they chose to relocate to beautiful San Diego with their partner after completing their DPT program.
Since moving to San Diego, they have completed the Pelvic Floor Course (Part 1) on pelvic floor rehabilitation offered by Herman & Wallace. This course has equipped them to treat individuals who may be underserved in terms of pelvic pain, pelvic weakness, and incontinence. Their goal is to become certified in pelvic floor rehabilitation after gaining 2000 hours of experience treating patients with pelvic health issues.
In addition to pelvic floor rehabilitation, they have also received training to treat patients diagnosed with vertigo, including BPPV, as well as those with a history of concussions and headaches. Their wide range of expertise allows them to provide comprehensive care to their patients.
Outside of their work, they enjoy running in downtown San Diego, hiking, and exploring the local food scene in search of the best Ethiopian cuisine in Southern California. They also love to dance with their partner, who always happens to be the best dancer in the room.
