Rocio, originally from Brownsville, Texas, grew up immersed in a loving Mexican culture. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio with a Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care. Over the next two years, Rocio gained valuable experience in the adult, pediatric, and neonatal intensive care units at various hospitals in San Antonio. During this time, she also served as a critical transport team member, responsible for safely transporting sick infants via land and air.
In 2017, Rocio obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas. Throughout her career, she has achieved Double Board Certifications as a Certified and Registered Respiratory Therapist and Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist. She has also earned certifications in Dry Needling, Kinesio-taping, and recently became a Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC). Rocio furthered her expertise by completing certifications in Pelvic Floor Therapy Levels 1 and 2A from the esteemed Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institution.
Rocio has worked in various settings, including acute care, outpatient, and home health, serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Her areas of expertise include vertigo, aquatic therapy, women’s health/pelvic health, neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and post-surgery rehabilitation. Recognizing a significant need for Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy in the Brownsville, Olmito, Harlingen, San Benito, Los Fresnos, and surrounding areas of Cameron County, she now focuses on incorporating this specialized therapy into her practice.
Outside of her professional life, Rocio cherishes spending quality time with her family.
