Riva Preil is a renowned pelvic floor physical therapist, known for her expertise in treating a wide range of pelvic floor disorders. She began her career at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), where she worked in the outpatient department, specializing in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. It was during this time that Riva developed a strong passion for women’s health and decided to establish the Pelvic Floor Program at SJRMC. In this program, she provided specialized care to women experiencing bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction.

With her dedication to improving women’s health, Riva took a bold step almost three years ago and opened her own private practice called Revitalize Physical Therapy. Here, she continues to treat women with various pelvic floor disorders, including dyspareunia, interstitial cystitis, vulvodynia, pudendal neuralgia, constipation, incontinence, prenatal and postpartum conditions, pelvic organ prolapse, and chronic pelvic pain. Additionally, Riva extends her expertise to pediatric patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction.

Riva’s treatment approach combines therapeutic exercise and manual therapy, incorporating various modalities to ensure her patients achieve optimal outcomes. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her certifications, including being a Board Certified Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy (WCS) and obtaining biofeedback certification in treating pelvic floor dysfunction from BCB-PMD. Furthermore, Riva is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) through the Academy of Lymphatics, enabling her to provide specialized care to individuals experiencing upper and/or lower extremity swelling. She has also received training in Craniosacral Therapy, which aids patients with hyper-sensitized central nervous systems and disruptions in cerebral spinal fluid flow.

Always eager to expand her knowledge and share insights with others, Riva regularly blogs about various pelvic floor, women’s health, and medical topics. She has even co-authored a chapter in a medical textbook titled “The Overactive Pelvic Floor.” Riva has been invited to lecture at prestigious institutions, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, Bridgeport University, and Plaza College, where she has shared her expertise and insights with both physicians and students.

Riva Preil’s unwavering dedication to improving the lives of patients with pelvic floor disorders, coupled with her extensive knowledge and certifications, make her a highly sought-after pelvic floor physical therapist in her field.
