The assistant is a graduate of the Medical College of VA/Virginia Commonwealth University Physical Therapy program. They have earned their WCS (Women’s Clinical Speciality) through the APTA and hold a Certification in Medical Therapeutic Yoga. Their area of expertise involves working with individuals of all genders and ages who are facing challenges with movement, pain, pelvic pressure, and various types of incontinence (urinary, fecal, and flatulence).
The primary belief of the assistant is that their patients and clients should be able to live life to the fullest. Rather than limiting them, the assistant strives to reintroduce activities back into their lives. They particularly enjoy assisting pregnant individuals as they prepare for labor and delivery, as well as supporting them during the postpartum stages of healing. Additionally, they specialize in working with women who have pelvic organ prolapse, aiming to show them that this condition should not hinder their ability to engage in activities such as lifting, running, and fully enjoying life.
Furthermore, the assistant provides guidance and support to those experiencing pain during intimacy and other forms of pelvic pain. They also work with children and their parents who are dealing with issues such as constipation, bedwetting, and daytime leaking. Lastly, the assistant assists men who have undergone prostatectomy or are suffering from pelvic pain.
The assistant considers themselves fortunate to incorporate Rehabilitative Ultrasound as an assessment, teaching, and biofeedback tool in their practice.
