Dr. Rebecca Biland, the founder of Essential Foundations Pelvic Physical Therapy, has had an impressive career in the field of physical therapy. After completing her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, she pursued further education at the University of Delaware, where she successfully completed their Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program in 2010.

Initially, Dr. Biland focused on treating sports injuries and orthopedic conditions at outpatient clinics in JFK Medical Center and Atlantic Health Sports Physical Therapy. However, it was during this time that she became increasingly aware of an underserved population of patients suffering from pelvic pain. This realization compelled her to pursue continuing education in pelvic floor rehabilitation, with a desire to provide better care for these individuals.

In 2012, Dr. Biland took a significant step in her career by developing and launching a Pelvic Physical Therapy program at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ. This expansion of their outpatient services allowed her to reach a wider range of patients in need. A year later, she became a mother herself and underwent personal experiences with pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery. These experiences further fueled her commitment and passion to advocate for women’s health.

With a strong mission to empower women and improve their wellness, Dr. Biland founded Essential Foundations Pelvic Physical Therapy. The clinic focuses on treating pervasive and undertreated conditions such as pelvic pain, incontinence, and postpartum issues. Currently, they have two clinical sites available to new patients in Gillette, NJ, and Short Hills, NJ. Whether through a phone call or a visit to their website, patients can access the necessary information to seek treatment.

Dr. Biland’s approach to care is unique. By offering a fee-for-service pelvic physical therapy program, she can provide personalized one-on-one care without the restrictions of an insurance-based healthcare system. This allows her to greatly improve the quality of care and work closely with her patients to achieve their personal goals.
