Melissa Sundberg is a highly accomplished physical therapist who graduated with honors from Pacific University in 2001, where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Washington State University. Melissa’s expertise extends beyond her educational background, as she has also achieved advanced board certification in Orthopedics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Additionally, she is certified in orthopedic manual therapy by the IAOM.
Melissa’s interest in pelvic health was sparked over a decade ago following the birth of her daughter. Since then, she has received extensive training in pelvic health and has developed a true passion for this field. She is particularly dedicated to providing physical therapy for women during the pre- and post-natal periods, female athletes, individuals experiencing pelvic pain, and those with bowel dysfunction.
For more than five years, Melissa has been teaching a postpartum Pilates class, which has allowed her to assist numerous mothers in returning to their daily activities and exercise routines with reduced pain and leaking. Through a combination of skilled manual therapy techniques and specialized training in movement re-education, she is committed to helping her patients achieve their unique goals.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Melissa enjoys various outdoor activities with her husband, two children, and their labradoodle. Running, hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, fishing, and camping are among her favorite pastimes.
