Meg, originally from Annapolis, MD, moved to Charleston after her marriage and graduation from the Physical Therapy program at Marymount University. As a former collegiate athlete who experienced various “over-use” injuries, Meg developed a strong desire to become a physical therapist. While initially considering medical school, she realized her passion for establishing a deeper connection with her patients and making a positive impact on their lives through improved mobility and active lifestyles.
In 2017, Meg joined Made2Move, a private-pay physical therapy, rehab, and performance center, and played a pivotal role in launching its Mount Pleasant location. In 2018, she embarked on a personal and professional mission to challenge the limitations on postpartum recovery and assist women in reconnecting with, strengthening, and healing their bodies. Meg began by pursuing additional education and expertise, actively working towards obtaining the Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy/Postpartum Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB) from the American Physical Therapy Association.
In Spring 2019, Meg introduced 4th Trimester, the only private-pay physical therapy program and education initiative in the Lowcountry specifically dedicated to prenatal and postpartum women. Free from the constraints of third-party payers dictating treatment, Meg is determined to do whatever it takes to help women achieve their healthiest bodies during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, focusing on what truly works to promote the well-being of moms like you.
Meg’s educational background and credentials include a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2008. She is currently pursuing the anticipated completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy/Postpartum Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB) in September 2019. Meg has also obtained certifications in Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 (2019), Low Pressure Fitness Level 1 Trainer (2018), Julie Wiebe PT – Piston Science: Module 1, Female Athletes: Ready for Impact, Pelvic Floor Piston: Foundation for Fitness (2017), ASTYM Soft Tissue Therapy (2012), APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor (2015), and DSI Certification in Functional Capacity Assessment (2013).
