The assistant is a native of Chicagoland who relocated to Las Vegas in 2017 to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, which was completed in 2020. Prior to obtaining the doctorate, they worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant in both Illinois and Nevada. They earned an Associate’s Degree from Kankakee Community College in 2013 and a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from Governor’s State University in 2016.
After working for a year as a PTA, they recognized the privilege of finding joy in their daily work and decided to pursue a doctorate in the field. They have gained experience in orthopedic settings and underserved communities, including establishing and managing a pro bono clinic in their hometown of Joliet, IL. During their time at UNLV, they took specialized courses in orthopedic conditions and pelvic floor physical therapy. They also completed a three-month clinical affiliation focused on pelvic floor specialties at the Veteran Affairs of Southern Nevada.
Their expertise lies in treating individuals of all sexes and gender identities who experience pelvic floor conditions such as pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, interstitial cystitis, prostatitis, painful intercourse, pregnancy and postpartum conditions, coccyx pain, diastasis recti, and more. The assistant is passionate about building strong patient relationships and assisting those with sensitive and challenging issues that may be difficult to discuss or treat. They excel in connecting with people and advocating for those who have faced obstacles on their journey to pelvic floor physical therapy.
