Mac Nwosu is an orthopedic and women’s health physical therapist who specializes in helping pregnant, postpartum, and active women maintain their fitness, health, and mobility without relying on medication, injections, or surgery. Mac obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and went on to complete a post-professional manual therapy fellowship through the Institute of Athlete Regeneration. He has also completed the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Section on Women’s Health Pelvic Floor and Obstetrics Series, as well as additional coursework through Herman and Wallace.
Mac’s clinical expertise encompasses the management of both acute and chronic orthopedic conditions, as well as pelvic floor dysfunction related to pregnancy and the postpartum period. He holds a special interest in the intersection of orthopedics, sports, and women’s health, including exercise during and after pregnancy, incontinence in athletes, and the connection between low back, hip pain, and pelvic floor issues. Mac’s treatment philosophy revolves around integrating evidence-based manual therapy, exercise, and movement, while also taking a biopsychosocial approach to address the overall well-being of each patient.
Some of the conditions that Mac commonly treats include pain during pregnancy (such as back, pelvic girdle, sacroiliac, sciatica, pubic symphysis, hip, knee/ankle, thoracic/neck/shoulder pain), leaking during exercise, post-cesarean scar or abdominal/pelvic pain, diastasis recti, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and overactive bladder.
In his leisure time, Mac enjoys indulging in and preparing delicious food, staying active through exercise, exploring the city, and cherishing moments with his loved ones.
