The Certified Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist has accumulated over nine years of experience specializing in pelvic health. Originally from Canada, they earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Injury Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. After relocating to the United States, they obtained a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York. In 2017, they decided to move to Naples, Florida for a change in scenery. With over 15 years of experience as a physical therapist, they discovered the need for pelvic floor physical therapy after experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction and pain following the birth of their first child. Recognizing the significance of pelvic health, they pursued additional training to become a Certified Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. They are passionate about assisting both men and women who silently suffer from pelvic issues. During treatment, their top priority is to ensure the patient’s comfort at all times. They provide thorough explanations of the assessment and treatment process, including the use of proper draping when necessary. They offer alternative options and obtain the patient’s consent before proceeding, emphasizing that the patient always maintains control and can withdraw consent at any time. Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of physical therapy interventions for pelvic floor problems such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain when the pelvic floor muscles are assessed in this manner.
