Laurie, a doctor of physical therapy and the founder of Confident Core Physical Therapy and Wellness, is dedicated to restoring confidence in women, particularly moms, moms-to-be, and grand-moms. With a deep understanding of the personal nature of their issues, Laurie approaches her work sensitively and discreetly to help her clients achieve their goals. Her comprehensive pregnancy program focuses on pain relief, total body strengthening, mobility, ergonomics, pelvic floor preparation, and breastfeeding/feeding positioning. Additionally, Laurie prepares her clients for labor by promoting a balanced pelvis and uterus, teaching labor positions, and cultivating a positive mindset for improved birth outcomes. She is also knowledgeable in VBAC preparation. Recognizing the importance of self-advocacy within the healthcare system during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, Laurie emphasizes this aspect in her programs. Her comprehensive postpartum program addresses diastasis recti, returning to exercise, pelvic/back pain, tearing, cesarean scars, incontinence, weakness, ergonomics/body mechanics, and trauma release. Drawing from her own experiences with pregnancy and her work with numerous women, Laurie is committed to minimizing the stigma surrounding pelvic floor dysfunction and breastfeeding. Her holistic and comprehensive care aims to restore women to a confident and pain-free life, enabling them to resume their desired daily activities and care for themselves and their families without hindrance. Laurie feels grateful for her own healthy and positive pregnancies and hopes to empower each of her clients to have the same experience, both during pregnancy and beyond. Notably, Laurie now offers telehealth sessions throughout NJ and NY. She considers it an honor and a joy to support her clients on their journey to a Confident Core and a Confident You. Laurie holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy with high honors from Rutgers University (Legacy UMDNJ) and pursues her passion for pelvic floor physical therapy through the esteemed Herman and Wallace Institute, the American Physical Therapy Association Academy of Pelvic Health, and The Institute for Birth Healing. She has also earned her specialty certification as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES). Outside of work, Laurie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, participating in sports, reading, and savoring fresh fruit.
