Dr. Kristen Joyce holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her passion for treating pelvic and sexual dysfunction was discovered during her final internship in school. As a pelvic physical therapist, Dr. Joyce believes in a holistic approach to client care, combining expertise in orthopedics and pelvic physical therapy. She stays up to date with the latest research and practices, providing evidence-based care to her patients. Dr. Joyce is a respected expert in her field and collaborates closely with surgeons and medical doctors, particularly in the area of gender affirmation procedures.

Certified by Herman & Wallace as a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC), Dr. Joyce is highly skilled in the care and treatment of the LGBTQIA+ community. She specializes in post-operative care for gender affirming surgeries and also works with individuals undergoing fertility treatments or on their fertility journey. Additionally, Dr. Joyce has extensive knowledge in treating hypermobility disorders, endometriosis/PCOS, and pre/post-surgical conditions such as bladder sling, hysterectomy, and endometriosis surgery.

Pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, urinary and fecal incontinence, and pregnancy and postpartum related impairments are also areas of expertise for Dr. Joyce. Her comprehensive approach to care includes addressing the needs of clients with a history of trauma. Furthermore, Dr. Joyce serves as a Clinical Instructor and mentor to aspiring pelvic physical therapists. She is actively involved in the doctor of physical therapy program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she gives lectures and assists with laboratory sessions.
