Kristen Allen, an experienced occupational therapist (OT), specializes in pelvic floor therapy. For the past 5 years, she has been working diligently with the Medical Center of Navicent Health. Since 2015, Kristen has focused on patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, aiding both males and females in addressing bladder, bowel, and sexual health issues. Among the common diagnoses she treats are urinary and/or fecal incontinence, as well as pelvic pain such as vulvodynia, dyspareunia, vaginismus, pudendal neuralgia, and levator ani syndrome.
As a new mother herself, Kristen has developed a particular interest in caring for pregnant and postpartum patients. To further enhance her expertise in these areas, she recently attended specialized training. Kristen’s comprehensive approach to treating pelvic floor dysfunction involves a range of techniques and strategies. These include biofeedback, manual techniques, trigger point release, behavioral changes such as dietary recommendations and toileting body mechanics, as well as relaxation strategies, pelvic alignment/postural stability, pain management strategies, and equipment recommendations.
Kristen obtained a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. She has also undergone extensive training in pelvic floor therapy through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Currently, Kristen practices at the Medical Center of Peach County Navicent Health in Byron, GA. With her expertise and dedication, she strives to provide the highest quality care to her patients.
