Kenna holds a BA in Psychology from UC Berkeley and an MA in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. She has also completed specialty courses in pelvic floor physical therapy for both men and women, focusing on issues such as incontinence, bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, and sexual problems related to pelvic floor dysfunction. Additionally, she has undergone training in manual therapy techniques, including visceral fascia mobilization, and is a certified STMT-1 practitioner in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Kenna has also taken miscellaneous courses in orthopedic physical therapy for various body regions.
With over 22 years of experience as a physical therapist, Kenna has worked in diverse clinical settings, including acute hospital care, home health, workplace injury prevention, outpatient orthopedics, and women’s/men’s pelvic floor therapy. Her interest in physical therapy began during her time as a figure skater, where she received treatment for various injuries. It was during college that she realized her passion for the field after working as a physical therapy aide and witnessing how it seamlessly combined concepts of physical medicine with rehabilitation.
Kenna finds great satisfaction in the personalized approach to therapy, as she enjoys tailoring each individual’s treatment to their specific needs. Her primary goal is to empower her patients to make positive changes in their physical health, improve their daily movement and function, and instill hope in their recovery from illness or injury. She also appreciates the continuous learning opportunities that come with being a physical therapist, both from her patients and her colleagues.
