Katrina, a highly experienced physical therapist, obtained her undergraduate degrees in dance and biology from TCU and Texas A&M University, respectively. She furthered her education by graduating with a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University, HSC in 1986, and later completed her DPT from Utica College in Utica, NY.
Before joining Hands on Physical Therapy, Katrina underwent extensive manual therapy training with renowned therapist Ola Grimsby, P.T., and began her journey in Myofascial Training in 1987. With over 20 years of experience, Katrina has successfully treated a wide range of male and female pelvic dysfunction diagnoses, including urinary and fecal incontinence, organ prolapses, various forms of pelvic pain, rectal pain, constipation, prostate problems, pre and post-surgery candidates, post-cancer treatment, postpartum problems, coccydynia, and pelvic muscle imbalances.
Her expertise extends to treating chronic pain, fibromyalgia, acute pain, headaches, complex medical problems, and scar tissue adhesions. Since 1995, Katrina has been the owner of Hands on Physical Therapy, where she initially started as a staff PT. She has dedicated two decades to specializing in Male and Female Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, pursuing advanced training through the APTA, Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute, Alcove Education, Gail Wetzler, PT, and other experienced therapists.
In her pursuit of professional development, Katrina has completed the rigorous CAPP (Certified Advanced Pelvic Professional) certification process through the APTA. She is also certified to perform dry needling throughout the whole body, including the external pelvic floor. Katrina’s commitment to excellence is demonstrated by her completion of over 250 hours of John Barnes Myofascial Release training, as well as skill enhancement training at the Myofascial Release Treatment Center in Paoli, PA, where her pelvic floor training initially began. She continues to share her expertise by periodically assisting in teaching these courses.
Additionally, Katrina has expanded her knowledge through classes at the Upledger Institute, where she has received training in Cranio-sacral therapy, Somato-emotional Release, and Lymphatic Drainage. With her extensive background and ongoing commitment to professional growth, Katrina is a trusted and highly skilled physical therapist.
