Kate, a native of Chicago, has been actively involved in soccer, volleyball, running, and yoga since her youth. Her passion for sports and fitness sparked her curiosity about the intricate workings of the human body in executing complex movements. She would often observe her teammates and peers, trying to decipher the factors that contributed to their ability to jump higher or achieve deeper poses in yoga. This interest led her to attend some of her mother’s physical therapy sessions, where she realized that this field perfectly combined her fascination with the mechanics of the human body and her strong problem-solving skills.

In 2010, Kate graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. Seeking further education, she relocated to Brooklyn, NY, and enrolled in Long Island University – Brooklyn, where she obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014. Kate’s dedication to her studies earned her the prestigious Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. It was during her time at LIU that she discovered the Institute of Physical Art and became captivated by the Functional Manual Therapy™ approach, recognizing its potential to distinguish her evaluation and treatment skills from those of other recent graduates.

During her studies, Kate had the opportunity to complete an internship with Body Gears, a renowned institution in the field. Under the guidance of experts like Sarah Lindquist and April Oury, as well as other members of the Body Gears Team, Kate witnessed firsthand the remarkable impact Functional Manual Therapy™ had on a diverse range of patients. This experience ignited her passion for continuously learning new manual techniques that could facilitate positive change in her patients. The sight of her patients becoming excited about their progress fueled her own excitement and motivated her to push herself further in her professional development.

Recognizing Body Gears’ commitment to education and collaboration, Kate eagerly embraced the opportunity to continue her career with the organization. She is determined to contribute her expertise and provide exceptional care to her patients, utilizing the powerful tools of Functional Manual Therapy™ and her unwavering dedication to their wellbeing.
