Dr. Kate McKechnie, a native of the northern suburbs of Chicago, has a strong background in biological sciences and physiology. Graduating with honors from Northwestern University in 2006, she earned her BS degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. McKechnie then pursued further education in physical therapy at Long Island University-Brooklyn, where she excelled in her studies and was awarded the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence, obtaining her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2014.

After completing her education, Dr. McKechnie gained valuable experience working in various locations for a reputable outpatient clinic based in Chicago. Here, she specialized in providing high-quality manual therapy interventions, focusing on delivering exceptional care to her patients. Throughout this period, she actively pursued continuing education opportunities, attending courses offered by the Institute of Physical Art. Her dedication and commitment paid off when she was accepted to sit for a certification exam, which she passed with honors, earning her the title of Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) in 2016.

In addition to her CFMT certification, Dr. McKechnie expanded her skill set by completing coursework with Kinetacore (now Evidence In Motion) to become certified in Functional Dry Needling. This additional expertise allows her to offer a comprehensive range of treatment options to her patients, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Since 2016, Dr. McKechnie has been actively involved in The Pelvic Floor Series offered by the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.
