Kat Castro PT, DPT holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University and a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Throughout her education and career, she has gained experience in various clinical settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, pelvic floor dysfunctions, and pediatrics.

During her time at NYU, Kat was involved in research focused on investigating the prevalence of injury in yoga. She co-presented a study titled “Development of a Rating Scale for Video Analysis of Yoga” at the 2016 APTA Combined Sections Meeting in Anaheim, California. Additionally, she is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Teacher (PMA® -CPT), and an experienced yoga instructor.

Kat’s expertise extends to treating a diverse range of patients, including those with chronic pain, sports-related injuries, spinal deformities (such as adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and kyphosis), and the pre/post-natal population. She also specializes in treating men and women’s pelvic floor dysfunctions, such as incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, interstitial cystitis, pudendal neuralgia, SI joint pain, and coccydynia. In her approach to treatment, Kat aims to identify the underlying cause of the problem and combines manual therapy techniques with neuromuscular re-education to optimize functional movement.
