Dr. Judith Meer obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Barnard College and went on to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at New York University (NYU). After several years, she discovered her passion for pelvic floor physical therapy. Dr. Meer specializes in treating a wide range of pelvic floor and post-operative conditions, catering to individuals across the gender spectrum. Her expertise includes addressing issues related to post-prostatectomy and hysterectomy, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, prolapse, bowel and bladder incontinence and leakage, diastasis recti, and various pain conditions.
Dr. Meer is known for her collaborative and compassionate approach to patient care. One aspect of her practice that brings her great satisfaction is assisting pregnant and postpartum mothers in navigating the challenges related to pelvic floor health. By equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools, she helps them overcome any bowel, bladder, or sex-related problems they may experience before or after delivery. Notably, she is the sole local practitioner offering home visits for postpartum women residing in Jersey City and Hoboken. This service alleviates the added stress of leaving the house for an appointment, which can be particularly burdensome for new mothers.
A strong advocate for lifelong learning, Dr. Meer dedicates time throughout the year to attend conferences, pursue continuing education courses, and stay updated on the latest research in her field. This commitment enables her to provide the best possible care to her patients. She has completed extensive coursework in pelvic health topics through esteemed institutions such as the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and the Academy of Pelvic Health of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Additionally, Dr. Meer contributes to teaching various courses offered by the Herman & Wallace Institute, where she takes pleasure in shaping the next generation of pelvic health therapists.
Since 2012, Dr. Meer has been an active member of the APTA and holds certifications as a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC) from Herman & Wallace, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition to her expertise in physical therapy, she brings a diverse set of skills to her practice, including wilderness first responder training, self-defense instruction (specifically Krav Maga), and licensure as a New York State outdoor guide.
