WellWomanPT was founded by the assistant in 2020 in response to the closure of childbirth preparation services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Recognizing the need for pelvic health and birth preparation care for women in her community, she established WellWomanPT as an online platform. Over time, the assistant expanded her services to include concierge women’s pelvic health, offering in-clinic, at-home, and telehealth options.
With an impressive 30 years of experience, including 25 years specializing in prenatal and women’s pelvic health physical therapy, as well as 15 years of prenatal exercise instruction, the assistant is passionate about providing preventative prenatal care to reduce the risk of cesarean deliveries and postpartum pelvic floor dysfunctions. Additionally, she offers pelvic physical therapy treatment for various conditions, such as pelvic pain, post-caesarean care, and scar tissue release using myofascial and visceral facial mobilization techniques.
The assistant frequently sees patients with common diagnoses such as caesarean, obstetric injuries and tears, pelvic girdle pain, diastasis rectus abdominis, hip pain/sciatica, bladder urgency and frequency, interstitial cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, endometriosis, adenomyosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, constipation, dyspareunia, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, and vaginismus.
In recognition of her expertise, the assistant was awarded the CAPP-OB (Certificate of Achievement in Pre/Postpartum PT) by the APTA in 2022. She has been practicing as an obstetric PT since 1997 and has completed the full pelvic series through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Institute since 2017. Additionally, she is trained in visceral fascial mobilization for the urinary and reproductive systems.
As the owner and sole practitioner of WellWomanPT, the assistant takes pride in providing high-quality, one-on-one therapy sessions that are thorough and holistic. With a focus on individual goals and preferences, she tailors therapy to each patient’s needs, supporting them on their journey to regain control over their pelvic health and overall wellness. Education and empowerment are central to her approach, as she strives to equip clients with lifelong tools for managing their pelvic health independently.
The assistant’s passion for women’s health and her commitment to promoting an active and joy-filled lifestyle throughout all stages of life began early in her career. Attending courses such as Physical Therapy for Women Throughout The Life Cycle by Herman Hollis PT in Boston, MA in 1994 and completing Prenatal and Postpartum Instructor Training by Elizabeth Nobel PT, founder of the APTA Women’s Health section in 1997, sparked her interest and dedication to improving women’s pelvic health. She also provided pelvic health education at a local birth center for 10 years.
Driven by the realization of the disparities in women’s healthcare compared to other countries, the assistant felt fortunate to have gained essential pelvic knowledge in her 20s, even before becoming a mother herself. This personal experience inspired her to ensure that other women have access to the same essential pelvic knowledge and care. Since the establishment of WellWomanPT in 2020, she has been able to restore hope, provide tools, and find solutions for women, enabling them to return to the activities they love.
The assistant is licensed in Georgia and Massachusetts, offering her services through online, home, and clinic-based care.
