Dr. Janice Paredes-Alvarez completed her Physical Therapy degree at UERMMMC in the Philippines in 1998. She later obtained her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2020. With experience in both sub-acute and outpatient settings in New Jersey, Janice has developed a comprehensive skill set in her field.

In 2018, Janice became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy. She further enhanced her expertise by achieving board certification from the Lymphology Association of North America in 2019. Janice expanded her knowledge and specialization by becoming a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist in 2020 and completing Low-Pressure Fitness trainer certification in 2021.

To advance her capabilities in pelvic health, Janice underwent training through the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Women’s Health and the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. This led to her earning a specialty certification as a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2022. Janice’s dedication to providing the best care for her patients motivates her to regularly participate in various pelvic health courses throughout the year.

Currently, Janice works at the Atlantic Health – CentraState Hospital outpatient clinic in Central New Jersey. She is also a part of the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Pelvic Wellness, where she focuses on treating both male and female patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, colorectal and urogynecological issues, as well as the pregnancy and postpartum population.

In addition to her expertise in pelvic health, Janice utilizes her LANA-certified lymphedema therapy skills to treat patients with post-mastectomy conditions, lymphedema secondary to cancer, head and neck lymphedema, lipedema, and phlebolymphedema. She is also a level 1 practitioner for the Meeks Method for Osteoporosis, further showcasing her commitment to comprehensive care and continued professional development.
