Irina Samson is a highly skilled physical therapist with a strong background in pelvic rehab. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2006 and Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. Currently, Irina works as an outpatient physical therapist at Summerville Medical Center, where she specializes in pelvic rehab.

Although Irina’s passion lies in pelvic rehab, she also has extensive experience treating patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions. In addition, she is certified as a stroke rehab specialist. Irina’s journey as a pelvic health therapist began when she relocated to Charleston, SC in 2016 and started working at Summerville Medical Center.

To ensure she provides the highest level of care to her patients, Irina has undergone extensive training. She has participated in multiple Herman and Wallace courses, equipping herself with the most up-to-date and evidence-based treatments available. This training allows her to effectively treat both men and women dealing with various pelvic health issues, including bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunctions, as well as pelvic pain diagnoses.

Irina emphasizes that pelvic rehab is not just about Kegels and that in some cases, they can worsen certain pelvic conditions. Instead, she conducts thorough evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific deficits and complaints. Her interventions are designed to provide relief and help patients achieve their goals.

Passionate about delivering excellent treatment, Irina works closely with patients’ referral sources, such as primary physicians, OB/GYNs, urologists, urogynecologists, and other medical professionals, to ensure optimal care. She aims to raise awareness among patients and healthcare professionals about the benefits of pelvic rehab, so that together as an interdisciplinary team, they can effectively treat individuals with pelvic dysfunctions.
