Elysia was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Buffalo, NY, where she spent much of her early life. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Niagara University and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo. Throughout her career, she has worked as a physical therapist in various states, including New York, Mississippi, Arizona, and Alaska.

In February 2020, Elysia found herself in Alaska as a traveling physical therapist, accompanied by her best friend and fellow therapist, Chelsea. They had bought one-way tickets and decided to make Alaska their permanent home. The moment Elysia stepped off the plane and caught a glimpse of the snow-covered mountains in Anchorage, she fell in love with the state’s breathtaking beauty.

When Elysia is not treating her patients, she spends her time with Chelsea, indulging in their shared love for running, biking, and hiking in the Alaskan mountains. Elysia has already completed three half marathons and has plans to participate in many more in this stunning state. Additionally, she and Chelsea have embarked on numerous adventures across the United States, exploring 16 new states in the past year.

Elysia’s passion for travel extends beyond the borders of the USA. She has explored countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy, England, Ireland, Panama, and her home country Sri Lanka. She thrives on the excitement and exploration that comes with experiencing new cultures.

As a physical therapist, Elysia believes in the power of hands-on therapy. She considers her hands to be her most valuable tool in helping patients heal through movement rather than relying solely on medicine. Elysia has specialized in Pelvic Floor physical therapy through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, completing Pelvic Floor Level 1 and 2a courses. This specialization allows her to provide targeted care and support to her patients in need.
