Elizabeth grew up in Yukon, Oklahoma with her parents and younger sister. In her youth, she was enthusiastic about gymnastics and cheerleading. She attended Yukon High School, where she proudly cheered for the Millers. After graduating, she pursued higher education at the University of Oklahoma, continuing her cheerleading journey as a member of the OU Sooners from 2002 to 2004.
During her time in college, Elizabeth also worked as a physical therapy technician. It was during this period that she felt a strong calling to pursue a career in physical therapy. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies, she was accepted into the renowned physical therapy program at the University of Oklahoma.
In 2008, Elizabeth earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Her dedication to academic excellence paid off, as she received prestigious scholarships, such as the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association W.K. West Scholarship in 2007, and the Elam-Plowman Physical Therapy Scholarship in both 2007 and 2008.
Elizabeth’s clinical affiliations during her time as a physical therapy student focused on outpatient orthopedic settings, emphasizing exercise progression and manual and manipulative therapy. After graduating, she gained significant experience working alongside orthopedic surgeons, specializing in sports medicine and post-surgical rehabilitation.
In 2012, Elizabeth completed an orthopedic physical therapy residency through Evidence in Motion, becoming one of the first physical therapists in Oklahoma to graduate from a post-graduate residency program. She also obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy through the same program. Her successful completion of the residency program qualified her to sit for the examination to become a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), which she passed in June 2013.
Elizabeth’s dedication to expanding her expertise led her to obtain her Pelvic Health Certification through Evidence in Motion in July 2016. This comprehensive program, spanning 12 months, equipped her with the knowledge and skills to treat both women and men experiencing pelvic pain, urinary and fecal incontinence, SI joint/hip dysfunction, chronic low back pain related to pelvic dysfunction, pregnancy/post-partum pain, and pain with intercourse.
As an active member of both the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA), Elizabeth stays connected with her professional community. She currently resides in Norman, Oklahoma with her husband, Jarod, who owns and operates a local recording studio and is actively involved in the music scene. Together, they enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, and passionately cheering on the OU Sooners and the OKC Thunder.
