Elizabeth Bourlas, PT, DPT, PRPC, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Pelvic Rehabilitation Certified Practitioner. She obtained her DPT from Rosalind Franklin University in 2012, where she completed two clinical rotations specializing in Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor therapy. It was during these rotations that she discovered her passion for treating patients with pelvic health issues.

After graduating, Elizabeth worked at an outpatient orthopedic facility in downtown Chicago. There, she successfully developed and expanded a Pelvic Health and Post-Mastectomy Rehabilitation program. To further enhance her expertise, she pursued additional education at the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, completing numerous Women’s/Men’s Health continuing education courses and passing the certification exam.

Elizabeth’s dedication and expertise led to her promotion as the manager of the West Loop clinic. She also served as a clinical instructor, mentoring students interested in women’s health therapy. Before pursuing her doctorate, she worked in healthcare administration at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. Elizabeth holds a BA in economics from the University of Virginia, where she was a 4-year member and captain of the varsity women’s lacrosse team. Her leadership skills helped her team win a national championship in 2004.

Although her lacrosse career has ended, Elizabeth remains involved in sports as a coach and advocate for women’s participation. As a former competitive gymnast, two-time marathon runner, college athlete, skier, and mother of two young children, she understands the importance of fitness in patients’ lives. Elizabeth’s approach to care focuses on functional strengthening tailored to each patient’s goals, whether it’s returning to running or lifting their newborn without pain.
