Dr. Alison Ankiewicz, PT, DPT, is a highly experienced physical therapist and co-owner of Inner Dynamics Physical Therapy Pelvic Health and Wellness Center. With over 18 years of experience, Dr. Ankiewicz specializes in working with pelvic health clientele, including men, women, and adolescents dealing with bladder and bowel issues, pelvic pain, reproductive and sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Ankiewicz is highly respected by her clients, as well as physicians and healthcare professionals in her community and the tri-state area. She provides individualized one-on-one care for each client, dedicating 45-60 minutes to ensure their needs are met. Her clinical skills and expertise enable her clients to lead full, functional, and comfortable lifestyles.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Ankiewicz has a strong academic background. She served as an adjunct professor for Columbia University for 10 years and currently serves as a guest lecturer for Rowan University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Section of Women’s Health, where she held the NJ State chair and vice chair positions for 8 years. Dr. Ankiewicz has attended numerous educational courses in the field of pelvic health and has even assisted in instructing national courses on the East Coast.
Dr. Ankiewicz is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and expertise with the community. She has offered workshops for local hospitals and continues to host doctor of physical therapy student affiliations with a focus on pelvic health. She is committed to staying up to date with the latest research and has been conducting extensive research and case studies on the efficacy of physical therapy for Mondor’s disease in post breast cancer clients. Additionally, she has been collaborating with radiation oncologists to prevent vaginal stenosis in gynecological cancer survivors.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Ankiewicz enjoys spending time with her family. She has two teenagers and a supportive husband, and they often engage in activities together, such as running with their dogs, golfing, and fishing.
