Claire Hamnett holds undergraduate degrees in Kinesiology and Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She furthered her education by obtaining a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University. Currently, Claire is pursuing her Ph.D. in Women’s Health Physical Therapy through the remote program at Texas Woman’s University, designed specifically for practicing physical therapists.
Claire’s dedication to her field is evident through her various certifications. She has earned her PRPC through Herman and Wallace and is both a board-certified Women’s Health clinical specialist and a certified lymphedema therapist. Claire’s passion for pelvic health physical therapy was sparked during her time working at a pelvic health clinic while in college. Witnessing the life-changing impact of pelvic floor physical therapy firsthand, she knew she had found her calling.
Following her graduation from Columbia University, Claire completed a clinical residency year in pelvic health at Baylor, Scott, and White in Dallas, TX. Her expertise in the field is recognized, with her article titled “Can an Outpatient Exercise Program for Pregnancy-Related Pelvic Girdle Pain Improve Pain and Function Versus Education? A Feasibility Study” being published in the April/June 2021 issue of The Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy (JWHPT).
In her practice, Claire firmly believes in the importance of listening to her patients’ complete stories as the first step towards healing. She is dedicated to creating an inclusive and comfortable environment for each patient she works with. By helping her patients return to the important aspects of their lives, Claire feels privileged to be a part of their journey and assist them in reaching their goals. She understands the significance of her work in this often-overlooked clinical field and is honored to contribute her expertise.
