“Be the person you needed when you were younger.” This quote resonates deeply with the speaker, who, in their younger years, grappled with significant depression and physical pain. Their journey began after a challenging pregnancy and an emergency C-section in 2010, which left them feeling almost disabled. However, their determination to heal and regain their physical well-being led them down a path of personal growth and fitness. Eventually, they returned to school and achieved their doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University in 2019.

Following their academic success, the speaker dedicated themselves to providing comprehensive care in a physician-owned OB/GYN clinic for the next two years. Their focus primarily revolved around women’s health, addressing a range of conditions such as pregnancy/postpartum rehab, incontinence, prolapse, and complex pelvic pain conditions like endometriosis, vaginismus, and dyspareunia. To ensure they could offer the best care possible, the speaker actively pursued ongoing professional education from respected institutions like Maitland, Master Dry Needling, Herman and Wallace, Pelvic PT Rising, and more.

Simultaneously, the speaker delved into the study of yoga, meditation, breathwork, energy work, and biofield therapies in their personal life. Through encounters with various teachers and their own experiences, they recognized the necessity for holistic, whole-body, and whole-person healthcare. This realization prompted them to establish their private practice, Brightside Integrative Physical Therapy, in October 2021. The primary objective of their practice is to assist patients dealing with chronic pain, pelvic dysfunction, and other somatic complaints in finding relief and restoring movement, joy, and pleasure to their lives.

The speaker emphasizes the importance of acknowledging the role mental health and spiritual self-care play in the healing process. Taking an integrative approach, they strive to help patients comprehend the interconnectedness between their bodies, symptoms, and overall well-being. By working together, the speaker aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to invite strength, pleasure, and inner wellness back into their lives. Their personalized blend of holistic, intuitive, and evidence-based therapy encompasses a wide range of conditions, including pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic/complex pain, pregnancy/postpartum care, birth support, sexual wellness, chronic stress, mobility and balance issues, inflammatory/autoimmune conditions, and functional wellness.
