Carole High Gross, PT, MS, DPT, PRPC holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in 2015, as well as a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University, College of Graduate Studies in 1992. Currently, Carole serves as a Pelvic Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Palmer Township, Pennsylvania, where she has obtained her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification. In addition to her clinical work, Carole is a Lead Teaching Assistant for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, focusing on pelvic floor education courses.
Recognizing the lack of awareness and understanding surrounding the connection between eating disorders and pelvic health rehabilitation, Carole developed a course on eating disorders to increase knowledge in this area. She aims to shed light on the fact that pelvic health rehabilitation professionals can provide assistance with GI distress, bowel and bladder dysfunction, and pelvic pain for individuals with eating disorders. Furthermore, Carole understands the limited understanding of eating disorders and pelvic rehabilitation among healthcare professionals in general, as well as the issue of weight stigma within healthcare and rehabilitation settings. With a desire to bridge these gaps and improve the recovery process for those with eating disorders, Carole actively participates in educational programs like the Herman & Wallace Course.
Carole’s involvement extends beyond her work with eating disorders. She is also a member of the Pelvic Workgroup of the Ehlers-Danlos International Consortium. Within this group, Carole has contributed to the development of pregnancy and postpartum guidelines for individuals with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). These guidelines are set to be published in 2023. Carole has a keen interest in working with individuals living with eating disorders, hypermobility, and throughout the pregnancy and postpartum journey. Additionally, she is passionate about addressing pelvic, bowel, bladder, and abdominal issues in individuals of all genders.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Carole resides in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where she enjoys spending quality time with her family and beloved dogs. Carole values lifelong learning, collaboration, and teamwork, and remains dedicated to her field of expertise.
