Caren Hamilton, who graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Kinesiology in 2015, pursued her passion for physical therapy by obtaining a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Texas in 2019. During her time in graduate school, she discovered a particular interest in pelvic rehabilitation, prompting her to begin her continuing education in this niche field. Following a fulfilling 4-month internship at Woerner Physical Therapy in Fort Worth, TX, Caren knew that pelvic health was the perfect fit for her.
While working under her own license, Caren has dedicated herself to extensive training and mentorship in various aspects of pelvic PT. Her dedication and expertise were officially recognized when she obtained her pelvic rehabilitation practitioner certification (PRPC) in April 2021. This certification serves as evidence of her ability to accurately diagnose and provide effective treatment for pelvic dysfunctions in individuals of all genders throughout their lifespan. These dysfunctions encompass a wide range of issues, including colorectal, urogynecological, neuromusculoskeletal, gynecological, obstetrical, and sexual medicine concerns.
Currently, Caren focuses on treating female pelvic health dysfunction and is particularly passionate about understanding the involvement of the nervous system in pelvic floor function and the biopsychosocial impact it has. She firmly believes in the growth and potential of pelvic health physical therapy within the medical community, especially given the current moment in history. Caren is excited about the increasing accessibility of pelvic health services to all individuals. As an avid yogi herself, she encourages her patients to find their own ways to connect with their bodies and foster open communication within.
Ultimately, Caren recognizes the significance of a healthy pelvic floor in achieving moments of beauty and connection in life. Through her expertise and compassionate approach, she strives to empower her patients on their journey towards a fulfilling and functional pelvic health experience.
