Amy earned her doctorate in physical therapy from Oakland University in 2010 and has since gained extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care, and subacute rehab facilities. While she has expertise in neurology and vestibular rehabilitation, Amy is particularly passionate about pelvic health. In 2019, she became board certified in neurologic physical therapy, further enhancing her skills in this field.
What sets Amy apart is her personal experience with pelvic health issues, which enables her to truly empathize with her patients. This deep understanding motivates her to help her clients achieve successful outcomes. Amy played a pivotal role in establishing a pediatric pelvic health program at Oaklawn Hospital after receiving specialized training from Herman and Wallace. As a result, she can effectively treat children with a range of pelvic health issues, including fecal and urinary incontinence, bedwetting, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, and other commonly overlooked or disregarded diagnoses that can have long-lasting effects into adulthood.
Amy’s dedication to her profession extends beyond her clinical practice. She plans to become a certified pelvic rehabilitation practitioner within the next five years and actively seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge through ongoing education. Additionally, she serves as a teaching assistant for pelvic health courses and collaborates with different school districts and hospital systems to advance patient care and promote excellence in pelvic health.
