Amanda Hayes Fugate MPT is a skilled pelvic health physical therapist who specializes in addressing urinary, bowel, and pain conditions for both men and women. She also provides pre/postpartum care and sports core optimization. Amanda’s journey in this field began when she attended Western Carolina University in 2007 with a unique ambition to become a pelvic health therapist. Her dedication and passion in this area led her to win a national scholarship.
After graduating, Amanda took the initiative to establish a pelvic health program from scratch at an outpatient physical therapy practice in the Asheville, NC area. Over the past decade, she has continuously expanded her expertise and recently launched her own pelvic health practice called Pelvic Forward PT. With the evolving medical landscape, Amanda aims to offer more comprehensive and patient-centered care.
What sets Amanda apart is her personal experience as a lifelong runner and athlete. Drawing from this unique perspective, she has made it her mission to treat athletes dealing with pelvic floor and core dysfunction, pain, and those seeking optimal performance. Her business is founded on the principles of education, embodiment, and empowerment for all.
Beyond her clinical work, Amanda is a tireless educator who strives to initiate a global conversation about pelvic health. She actively participates in community-based education programs, delivering lectures and demonstrations to organizations like crossfit gyms, the YMCA, and pilates studios. Additionally, she provides instructor trainings to groups such as DONA and REI, as well as pre-postpartum support groups, among others. Amanda’s love and curiosity for all things pelvic are evident, and she is grateful to have joined the Herman and Wallace team.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Amanda enjoys exploring the culinary world, immersing herself in outdoor activities, and cherishing quality time with her family.
